Safety Planning

What is Safety Planning?

Safety planning is a critical service we offer to anyone who is currently experiencing—or has experienced—domestic violence or sexual assault. It involves creating a personalized strategy to anticipate and prepare for potential dangers in an abusive relationship. Whether they’re still in the relationship, planning to leave, or have already left, a safety plan helps victim-survivors navigate dangerous situations with more preparedness and readiness—boosting their personal safety

At Younity, our trained advocates work one-on-one with individuals to develop a Safety Plan tailored to meet their unique needs and ensures they have the resources and support to stay as safe as possible. Critical aspects of Safety Planning may include identifying safe exits, packing essential items in case of an emergency, identifying trusted individuals to call, having a plan for where they can go or stay, and having a plan for their children if needed.

Our goal with safety planning is to provide a sense of preparedness, assurance, and peace of mind—even in very frightening and unpredictable situations. These plans are an important part of our comprehensive support services, offering guidance and help during challenging times.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this service, our team is here to help.
