Womanspace is pleased to announce that this year’s Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award event on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, will feature the annual Art Auction to benefit the Children’s Program. The silent Art Auction began in 2011 when Barbara Boggs Sigmund Honoree, renowned artist Faith Ringgold, donated signed works of art. Her unexpected gifts created an impromptu silent auction, and inspired a new BBS event tradition. Ms. Ringgold’s magnanimous gifts of artwork raised over $5,000 for agency programs.
Last year, the silent Art Auction was expanded to include other local artists. Seven works of art were on display throughout the night and once again helped raise money for the Children’s Program. This year, an astonishing amount of art will be up for bid on Tuesday, May 21. Click here or on the image to preview some of the pieces included in this year’s auction.
