22nd Annual Communities of Light on December 3rd and 4th
Join with us in early December when thousands of flickering lights will line the streets for the 22nd Annual Communities of Light, sending a powerful message of support and solidarity to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Mercer County.
The community-wide lightings on December 3rd, in homes and neighborhoods, and on December 4th, at businesses and municipal buildings, will be the culmination of a month of awareness raising and action to bring domestic violence and sexual assault out of the darkness and into the light. Throughout November, Communities of Light Luminary Kits – each including 6 votive candles and white paper bags – will be on sale for $10 at the retailers listed below, at our Administrative office at 1530 Brunswick Avenue, Lawrenceville, and online here.
There is a role for everyone to play!
- Illuminate your home and let your community know that you stand with victim-survivors.
- Coordinate with your neighbors or place of business to amplify that message of support and hope.
- Donate to ensure that no one will ever be turned away when they need the services that Womanspace offers.
Luminary Kits will be available for sale at the following locations:
BHHS/Fox & Roach Realtors Princeton
BHHS/Fox & Roach Realtors Princeton Junction
Keller Williams Premier Robbinsville
If you would like to get involved, please contact Womanspace at RLL@womanspace.org or click here.
As a valued member of our Womanspace community, your participation helps to raise awareness of the services we provide and to firmly cement your anti-violence stance for all to see. Please stand with us in our fight to bring domestic violence and sexual assault out of the darkness and into the light, letting our neighbors know they are not alone and that help is available.

Womanspace, a Mercer County nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault, is pleased to welcome three new board members.
Malina Poshtova Delamere is the founder and president of Vida Rose Coaching Solutions, an executive coaching practice for women whose business, career, and life are in growth mode. With over 20 years of business leadership experience, Ms. Poshtova is also a former Fulbright Scholar, with degrees from New York University and the University of Sofia in Bulgaria. Malina firmly believes that life is an adventure and opportunities often come in disguise.
Ektaa Sanghvi Shah is a certified public accountant and recent graduate of Rutgers Business School. A business owner passionate about helping her clients, she currently works in her family’s tax practice, cpa4tax, alongside her father. As a young professional, Ms. Shah is excited to be part of our community and use her skills, professional and otherwise, to give back.
Stephen Sigmund is a communications and public affairs professional with over 25 years’ experience as an executive, advisor, and spokesperson for some of the region’s and the nation’s leading public and private sector organizations. He currently serves as Chief of Public Outreach/Chief Spokesman for the Gateway Development Commission. Mr. Sigmund teaches at Columbia University, and serves on the boards of the Center for an Urban Future and Interact Community Theater. Most importantly to us, Mr. Sigmund is the son of former Princeton mayor and Womanspace founder, Barbara Boggs Sigmund.
“We are honored to accept these exceptional individuals as the newest members of the Womanspace Board of Directors.
We respect that representation matters. The life experience, expertise and connections brought in by Malina Poshtova Delamere, Ektaa Sanghvi Shah, and Stephen Sigmund will greatly enhance our Board’s governance abilities in supporting and advocating for our mission,” said Womanspace Board President Michelle Bajwa. “We are grateful and ask our wonderful community to join us in celebrating and welcoming them as allies in support of victims and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual abuse.”
