Thank you for making Mercer County so bright on December 6th!

Thank you to all who participated!

On Monday, December 6th at dusk, Mercer County shone brightly for the 20th Annual Communities of Light. Thank you to our supporters for a successful Communities of Light earlier this week. Because of you, over $35,000 was raised to fund our life-saving services. We lit 1200 luminary kits across Mercer County as a symbol of hope for men, women and children impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Once again, thank you so much to all that participated. This event serves as a powerful symbol of hope in our community and spreads the message that Peace Begins at Home.

Womanspace Receives Grant from the NextGen Giving Circle at Princeton Area Community Fund

On June 30th, 2021, Womanspace was awarded a $10,000 grant from the NextGen Giving Circle Fund at Princeton Area Community Foundation. NextGen is comprised of millennial donors, who pool their contributions, and then collectively decide which charities will be awarded grants. The Giving Circle was created in 2017 by Jeremy Perlman, a Risk Advisor at Borden Perlman in Ewing, to help the millennial generation learn about philanthropy and nonprofits in the Central Jersey area.

These funds will support Womanspace’s work in protecting families and providing a safety net of supportive services to prevent abuse. We are very pleased to have backing from generous organizations such as the Princeton Area Community Foundation and the NextGen Giving Circle who support Womanspace’s mission.

Thank you for helping us continue to provide valuable lifesaving programs and services to survivors during this time.

Womanspace Receives Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation

On June 24th, Womanspace was awarded a $2,000 Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation. The Starbucks Foundation’s Neighborhood Grants program supports grassroots, community-led nonprofit organizations through catalytic investments in the form of small grants. Through this unique program, The Starbucks Foundation invites Starbucks partners (employees) to nominate a local organization in their community. Neighborhood Grants also help build sustained local impact and inspire increased partner engagement with nonprofits organizations that work in our communities.

Womanspace was one of more than 1,300 nonprofits selected to receive a Neighborhood Grant this year. The funds from this grant will go towards continuing our effort to support victims of domestic violence in our region. These funds are intended to address the critical needs of New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents, whose health and livelihood continues to be threatened by the pandemic. We are very pleased to have backing from generous organizations such as The Starbucks Foundation who support Womanspace’s mission.

Thank you for helping us continue to provide valuable lifesaving programs and services to survivors during this time.

Womanspace Receives Grant from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund

On March 15th, 2021, Womanspace was awarded a $20,000 grant from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF). The NJPRF has been working every day for the last year to support the thousands of families impacted by the ongoing pandemic throughout the state. Over 500 organizations have identified and funded in order to help the most vulnerable neighbors return to normal. For this award, Womanspace was among 140 nonprofit organizations identified as best positioned to provide services and support to New Jersey communities in greatest need.

The funds from this grant will go towards continuing our effort to support victims of domestic violence in our region. These funds are intended to address the critical needs of New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents, whose health and livelihood continues to be threatened by the pandemic. We are very pleased to have backing from generous organizations such as the NJPRF who support Womanspace’s mission.

Thank you for helping us continue to provide valuable lifesaving programs and services to survivors during this time!

BBS WILL happen… Save the Date for May 12, 2022!

Dear All,

It has been almost a year since COVID-19 drastically changed our everyday lives. While there is hope on the horizon for a return to some sense of normalcy, it is still unclear how far off that return will be. Even as the vaccine rollout begins to take off, experts still recommend practicing social distancing and avoiding large gatherings.

For these reasons, we have determined that, in order to keep our community safe, we need to postpone our BBS event. The new date for the 26th Annual BBS Award Event honoring Elizabeth Smart will be May 12th, 2022 at the Princeton Marriott. As previously mentioned, all sponsors and tickets will carry over to the new date.

As we draw closer to the event and finalize more details, we will reach out and share more information. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates.

Warm regards and please stay safe!

Update: the 26th Annual Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award Event

Dear All,

In these past 10 months, we have learned to adapt and overcome the challenges presented to us. We are so excited about the idea of some return to normalcy, but, for now, there is still so much unknown. As we watch and listen to the expert’s opinions, we know that we all have an significant part to play in the health and wellness of our community.

With this in mind, we are in the process of determining when it will be safe to have our BBS event. We will make a final decision about BBS no later than March 1st.

We are still confident that this wonderful event will happen – it is just a question of when. As stated before, tickets and sponsor sales will carry over to when the event takes place. As we finalize the details for the event, we will reach out and share more information. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates.

Warm regards and please stay safe!
